Academic Achievement

 ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

Beginning in 6th grade, Manning students are exposed to the rigor of secondary education.  The expectation is for Manning students to be prepared by the end of 8th grade to enter into high school.  Students who have a D or F in a class or classes will be placed on “Academic Watch,” which includes:

1. Increased school to parent communication;

2. Mandatory attendance at tutor time for the class(es) they are failing.  Please note that tutor time will be offered every morning at 7:50. 
     a. On Mondays, students can meet with their electives teachers.
     b. On Tuesdays, students can meet with their English Language Arts teacher.
     c. On Wednesdays, students can meet with their Social Studies teacher.
     d. On Thursdays, students can meet with their Science teacher.
     e. Each day of the week, students can meet with their Math teacher.


3. Mandatory attendance at Wednesday Achievement Time from 2:25-3:25.  We will send communication to both student and family on Friday if the student is expected to stay for Achievement Time the following Wednesday.
