Packing List

Hello 6th grade parents,

You are receiving this email today to make sure you understand what is happening at Manning and what is expected for our upcoming Outdoor Lab trip. Even if your child is not going, this email has valuable information for each 6th grade parent.

1) Hawk Quest is coming to Manning tomorrow, 11/15. Mrs. Pearce's students will attend the program from 12:45-1:45. Lunch C students will miss their recess time, if that is an issue, email Mrs. Pearce [email protected] Ms. Schwindt's students will attend the program from 2-3. All Manning teachers are aware of the program and should be planning accordingly. The program will happen in the auditorium. Feel free to learn more about Hawk Quest at https://www.hawkquest.org/

2) Monday, 11/28 is a regular day of school. ELA, Social Studies, and Science will help students get ready for Outdoor Lab, by creating name tags, preparing the Field Study Journal that every 6th grade student will get, whether they go to Outdoor Lab or not, and discussing logistics for our Tuesday morning departure.

3) Tuesday, 11/29 students should arrive at normal time, but will need to bring their luggage for Outdoor Lab to the north side of Manning, the W. 32nd side of campus. There will be two tarps at the dropoff site. The blue tarp is for all students attending Windy Peak, Mrs. Pearce's students. The green tarp is for all students attending Mt. Evans, Ms. Schwindt's students. Students will go to first period and will keep their daypacks/backpacks with them, but all other luggage and bedding will go on the tarp. Teachers, High School Leaders, and Manning personnel will be there labeling each bag with the students' first and last names. Buses are scheduled to leave no later than 9:30am.

4) Friday, 12/2 students should return to Manning around noon. There will be a call that goes out to notify parents of the time Outdoor Lab buses arrive. Students will get off the Outdoor Lab bus, collect their luggage, then get in their parents' vehicle and leave Manning. No 6th grader will be expected to go to class once we return from Outdoor Lab on Friday.
